The foot more than any other part of the horse is susceptible to injury, disease or “wear and tear”. Proper, timely hoof care can often make the difference between a sound performance horse and one with chronic lameness that takes time and money to remedy.

Prices are competitive and you have the  real advantage of having Veterinary Podiatry behind the shoeing allowing each horse to be shod according to their hoof formation. This gives for a more sound horse and better long term performance.

 

 

Having just come back from the states I have been lectured by some very clever farriers and veterinary farriers and have refined the way I treat certain hoof injuries. Previously a painful heel quarter crack would be rested and allowed to grow out now it can be treated and the horse returned to competition within six weeks

Laminitis treatment


This is a disease where the distal bone in the foot can rotate away from the hoof wall as in this X-ray. see our articles page for a more thorough explanation on this debilitating disease.
